D’Andrea Banquets Conference Center in Crystal Lake rendered the backdrop small town setting for the Home of the Sparrow Women’s Luncheon on March 6. “There’s No Place Like Home” benefited homeless women and children in Northern Illinois and McHenry County.
Linda Trilling and Anneliese Moyer from HandsOn Suburban Chicago attended the event. Linda had the opportunity to meet Michelle Lusmann, Home of The Sparrow new Volunteer Program Manager.
The attendees warmly welcomed Kelly Swanson, comedian and motivational storyteller for the second year in a row. Ms. Swanson’s southern charm delighted the room as they traveled with her to a tiny little town called Prides Hollow.
Attendees laughed, cried and reflected on Ms. Swanson’s inspiring messages about women and community.
Home of The Sparrow established in 1986 supports the community by empowering homeless women and their children guiding them from homelessness to self-sufficiency in McHenry County and Northern Illinois.
