This past Thursday, October 20th, the HandsOn Tech team hosted its first of many free technology training sessions that will be offered to the Chicago area throughout the next 12 months. Open to anyone, HandsOn Tech training sessions are designed to help build the capacity of nonprofit organizations by exploring low-cost cloud solutions to common issues faced by nonprofits.
The team’s first training session, hosted by HandsOn Tech team member Michael Desjardins, educated attendees about a variety of cloud data storage services and the benefits they offer to nonprofit organizations. Following his presentation, Michael allowed the crowd to see the benefits first-hand by giving an interactive demonstration of one of HandsOn Tech’s favorite cloud storage services, Dropbox. Used by over 25 million users worldwide, Dropbox was a big hit among attendees, many of whom left teeming with ideas of how they could integrate Dropbox into their business processes.
For those unable to attend the session, worry not. The HandsOn Tech team has made the presentation available online below. An online video of the presentation will also be available shortly on our online tutorials page along with detailed tutorials on how to setup and use Dropbox.
With 100% of the attendees stating that they would attend another training session, the HandsOn Tech team was proud to see that its hard work was already making an impact on the community.
